Full-length debut from the UK artist who's appeared on comps on LSD (Mana Medicine), Six Degrees (Asian Travels 2), and RTTS (Ambient Meditations 3). The music is a smooth blend of acoustic live elements --ac. guitar, indian flute, celtic & indian vocals, shamanic percussion, african m'bira, cello, and more-- with electronic sampling, keyboards, breakbeats, and tight studio arrangements. Jairamji's sound has an ethnic feel to it, but one that blends many diverse sounds into a fresh and cohesive approach: post-ethnic music?!?!
Freeflowing and groovy, with deeper, pensive spaces as well, this is the ideal soundtrack for a warm Spring afternoon with someone you love . . . Jairamji debuted live at last year's Samothraki festival, and their first album has been eagerly awaited.
Personally, as a producer of music, the album's last track, the 13-minute-plus "Celestial Reasoning", was THE most stunning sonic experience of 2002 for me. Fans of the more epic Makyo and Padmasana tracks will not be disappointed.
